The Voortman bandsaw machine range is especially designed for cutting beams. The VB Range distinguishes itself through its stiff and rigid heavy frame. Equipped with the latest technology like servo motors and spindles, these machines guarantee optimal cutting speeds and high quality cuts. The bandsaw can be installed as standalone machine or in combination with other Voortman equipment.
A big advantage is that there is no time wasted speeding down too early or speeding up too late when cutting the web of an H-profile due to constant pressure measuring at the sawing blade. Another distinguishing feature is that the Voortman Range is standard equipped with a moving sawing table. This makes sure that the sawing lists are always in line with the sawing blade so it never cuts in the table.
Voortman VB Range Details: FAST PROFILE MEASURING Full stop
A full-stop measuring system positions a liftable stop plate just before the exact position to catch the profile moving at high speed using its detection plate. After the material is detected, the truck moves to the exact position and the material is slowly positioned against the stop plate. When the clamps of the sawing machine are closed the truck is lifted and moves to the next position. The stop plate is wide enough for bundle cutting.
Gripper truck
For customers who require a lot of small products, or who want to fully automate the removal of small products and clean cuts, the saw can be equipped with a strong and fast servo driven gripper truck. The gripper truck is used for measuring and transportation and capable of moving the heaviest profiles without losing its stability. To increase the automation level of the sawing machine, an automatic Short Product Removal System (SPRS) is available. All products up to 1.400 mm / 55 inch will be clamped during cutting. After cutting it will be transported from the saw and pushed out sideways automatically. Clean cuts are dropped into a separate bin. This system is only possible in combination with a gripper truck.
Fast rotation for mitre cuts
When the next cut in the batch is a mitre cut, the sawing machine lowers the tables for contact free, fast rotation, and moves to the correct angle at any degree; the position is then fixed by a disk brake. Mitre options are -45°/ +60°.
MOVEABLE SAWING TABLE A distinguishing feature is that the Voortman VB Range is standard equipped with a moving sawing table. This makes sure that the sawing lists are always in line with the sawing blade so it never cuts in the table. With this feature there is no need for replacing the table in the complete lifetime of the machine. The saw and the table can rotate stepless in any desired angle. When the next cut in the batch is a mitre cut, the sawing machine lowers the table automatically for contact free rotation. MICRO COOLING A mixture of air and oil is sprayed directly onto the blade for optimal cooling. The result is a long lifetime of the blade and minimal cleaning before welding as no excessive cooling fluids are used. Voortman also includes an automatic “new blade cycle” in the control system to ensure maximum lifetime of every blade.
HEIGHT DETECTION LASER When the sawing cycle is started the blade moves down at full speed until the height detection laser reaches the top of the material, at this point the machine switches over to perfect sawing speed.
AUTOMATIC SAWING SPEED ADJUSTMENT BASED ON PRESSURE Two pressure sensors are used to measure the actual sawing blade pressure. Collected data is used to constantly adapt the sawing speed, feed rate and pressure for the best cutting results with less wear of the sawing blade. To align bundles quickly a bundle stop can be installed in the sawing system. VN36 HYDRAULIC NUMBERING UNIT Optional the VB range can be equipped with a hydraulic numbering unit. This unit can be used for hard stamp marking of the products with part numbers, so that it can be recognized in further production steps. It consists of a frequent driven rotating disk which contains 36 exchangeable characters, with a height of 10 mm. The characters are hydraulically pressed into the steel, with an imprint of 1 mm.
SHORT PRODUCT REMOVAL SYSTEM To increase the automation level of the sawing machine, automatic Short Product Removal System (SPRS) is available. With the SPRS it is possible to automatic remove off-cuts and small products. All products up to 1.400 mm / 55 inch will be clamped during cutting. After cutting it will be transported from the saw and pushed out sideways. Clean cuts are dropped into a separate bin. This system is only possible in combination with a gripper truck.
AUTOMATIC IN- & OUTFEED Push the button and start the complete process
After loading the DSTV or DSTV+ (completely nested) files into the processing list of our VACAM operating system and loading the (optional) cross-transports with raw material, the machine can be started with just one push on the button. After this, the operator doesn’t have to do anything to help the production process but unloading finished products from the outfeed cross-transports.
Fully automatic profile transportation
Mechanical or double operated drag-dogs are used to transport the profiles onto the in-feed roller conveyor and of the out-feed roller conveyor. Detectors in the drag-dogs enable automatic transport of the profiles from the cross conveyors to the in-feed roller conveyor and into the machine, as programmed in the VACAM operating software. Selected products will then automatically be produced out of the trading lengths. After the process drag-dogs detect the profile and transport the finished product onto the out-feed cross-transports. The cross transports are long enough to carry multiple profiles, allowing the machine to operate on its own for a considerable time.
Noise reduction
The cross transports are equipped with double polyamide strips to reduce the noise while transporting the profiles across the transports.
EVEN MORE CAPACITY WITH MULTI SYSTEM INTEGRATION The Voortman VB Range beam sawing machine as all other machines is delivered with the VACAM operating software, this means all machines talk in the same “language”. This advantage is used to integrate two or more machines,
